After winning the Juno for Best New Band in 2010, Arkells jumped from indie to major and graduated to the category of best band—period—with the release of their sophomore album, Michigan Left. Their sound is the result of numerous influences, from The Beatles to Motown to Bruce Springsteen, but with each release, they inch their way towards something bigger, poppier, and glossier—an evolution made clear by the release of 2014's radio-ready High Noon.
