Her tracks have been used as theme tunes to a range of TV shows in her native Japan, and it’s easy to see why—Aimyon’s sound encompasses the upbeat, dance elements of J-pop, but also has flashes of indie magic that make for some contagious bops. The leisurely slide guitar in “Hyohaku”, bursts of feedback in “Only Under the Full Moon" and the underlying melancholy in “Marigold” combine to create a slew of pop treasures.
