His fresh take on boom-bap has proven flexible as well, tapping a radio-friendly vocal hook from Ruby Frost on 2013’s “The Wire” and incorporating minimalistic electronics on 2017’s “Fit In.” Yet Dallas still sounds right in his element while rhyming against the pillowy soul samples of 2025’s “Midas,” produced by American rapper Oddisee.
