Kelvin Momo developed somewhat of a cult following thanks to his spearheading of the mellow ‘yanos subgenre, “private-school amapiano”. His third album retains the soulfulness of his previous projects, 2020’s Momo’s Private School and 2021’s Ivy League. This time around, there’s a heavy jazz presence as he enlists the talents of instrumentalists and producers such as Jay Sax, Sipho Magudulela, Mas Musiq, Yumbs, Loxion Deep. The songs follow the genre’s penchant for extended runtimes—here that allows for rich sonic detail and the infusion of the ethereal vocals provided by a wide array of singers including Nanette, Tyla, MaWhoo, TBO, Chley, Babalwa M, and more.
