ALBUMDebussy… et le jazz (Bonus Track Version)Franck Tortiller, Vincent Peirani, Quatuor Debussy, Jacky Terrasson, Jean-Philippe Collard-Neven & Jean-Louis Rassinfosse
A winner of the 1993 Thelonious Monk competition, pianist Jacky Terrasson was hailed as one of the bright young lions on the traditional jazz scene upon the release of his self-titled debut in 1995. His feathery keyboard touch is coupled with a lot of power and passion, and Terrasson is also a gifted arranger of well-known tunes. His debut album was followed by Reach in 1996, while 1999's What It Is highlighted Terrasson's compositional skills. A Paris..., an homage to Terrasson's home town, arrived two years later, followed by 2002's Smile, a companion piece of sorts. After the 2007 solo piano album Mirror, Terrasson released the trio album Push in 2010. He returned in 2012 with the eclectic album Gouache, featuring a number of guest artists. ~ Richard Skelly
