In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember seeing Blue October at the Suicide Prevention tour in Boulder. Justin sang about things that I didn't even know we we're allowed to talk about. It changed my life. I finally had an outlet to express myself freely about anything I needed. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Amigo the Devil, Everything is Fine
Blue October, Foiled
KALEO, Surface Sounds
I really like both Amigo the Devil's "Volume 1" and KALEO's "A/B", but it wouldn't let me choose them. I like these albums because they convey emotion in a way that is dark, honest, and freeing. The storytelling went into each song is amazing & pure. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“I'm Not a Hero (feat. Tyler Bills, Chris Huisenga & Tom Frear)”
A friend of mine asked why I carried around all weight of my past with me. I learned writing this song that it's because it allows me to go to a dark place, that most people don't come back from, and make it back safely with whoever needed saving. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
I remember a guy coming up to me after a show and thanking me for writing "I'm Not a Hero". He said he was in a dark place and wasn't sure if he wanted to live. Then he said "I needed to hear that song tonight, I am going to be okay". Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
It would awesome to be an opener for some of my heros like Amigo the Devil, Shakey Graves, Blue October, The White Buffalo, KALEO, The Black Keys, Shawn James, Foo Fighters, or Tenacious D.
