Offering heartfeld piano ballads inspired by real life, Scottish singer-songwriter Aaron Smith has gone from small-town busker to international phenom.
• Smith took up the guitar at age 6. At 14, he wrote his first song, “City Lights,” and soon began busking around his hometown of Polmont.
• In 2019, Smith released his debut EP, Loveless. Lead single “Unspoken” was featured on Apple Music’s “Best of the Week” playlist and became a huge streaming hit.
• His follow-up EP, For My Father, arrived in 2020. Smith has described the collection as an “open letter” to his father, with whom he doesn’t have the best relationship.
• Smith cites John Mayer, City and Colour, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin as his biggest influences.
