Working under the name Amber Arcades, Dutch singer/songwriter Annelotte de Graaf views her musical career as an opportunity to explore different genres, calling in top-notch experts to help give her tender and true songs the backing they deserve. Her first album, 2016's Fading Lines, is dream pop as imagined by an all-star indie rock cast in Brooklyn, and for 2018’s European Heartbreak, she crafted a finely burnished singer/songwriter record at Spacebomb Studios in Virginia. Both felt like a warm-up for 2023's Barefoot on a Diamond Road, where she explored deep shoegaze, moody trip-hop, and dramatic pop ballads with a powerful vocal approach she'd merely hinted at previously.
