Memphis rapper Big Boogie had dreams of becoming a drum major. But shortly after his father’s death, he traded his drumsticks for a microphone and—ultimately—a deal with Yo Gotti.
• Boogie began making music in 2017 and released Definition of Pain that same year. The single “Life Story” became a local hit.
• His popular 2018 single “Let Me Know” piqued the interest of Yo Gotti, who invited the rapper into his camp.
• In October 2020, Boogie released the EP Final Nightmare, accented by features from Moneybagg Yo, DeJ Loaf, and Yo Gotti. Its heart-rending “Mental Healing” topped a million streams across platforms and cemented Boogie as an artist to watch.
• A month later, Boogie officially signed to Yo Gotti’s CMG label. To commemorate the milestone, Yo Gotti gifted the new signee with an original CMG chain.
