Before forming Black Label Society, Zakk Wylde played lead guitar for Ozzy Osbourne and also fronted the band Pride & Glory.
∙ Wylde formed Black Label Society after losing his gig with Osbourne as a result of waiting on a potential opportunity to play in Guns N’ Roses, which didn’t pan out.
∙ Black Label Society is known for choosing intriguing cover songs, such as Procol Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale” and Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.”
∙ While Wylde is Black Label Society’s sole constant member, the lineup has also featured members of Alice In Chains, Metallica, Megadeth, and Breaking Benjamin.
∙ Wylde also plays guitar and sings in a Black Sabbath cover band called Zakk Sabbath.
