Although rap-metal might have been slightly passé by the time of their full-length debut in 2006, Atlanta's Family Force 5 deftly wove metal guitar riffage, jokey lyrics, and skilled turntablism into a confident wall of sound that all but obscured the band's Christian point of view. And though the band maintains a party-hearty, dance-heavy image, the core members--the Olds brothers Solomon, Joshua, and Jacob--are in fact devout Christians whose previous bands mined more traditional CCM territory. Splitting time between the Christian circuit and more mainstream metal/punk outlets like the Warped tour, the band has garnered a following among Christians and non-believers alike.
