Gage is Lewis Charles, a London-born producer of jagged experimental club music. He began posting tracks online in 2010, and L2S Recordings released his debut EP, Sharp Eyes, in 2011. The EP didn't really stand out from the post-dubstep/U.K. garage coming out at the time, and it took a few more years for Gage to really develop a unique style. By the time he became affiliated with Bristol club night/label Crazylegs, he was producing intense, remarkable grime instrumentals, and his 2014 singles "Telo" and "Bad Bitch" (featuring over the top rapping from Philadelphia MC Kevin JZ Prodigy) earned much acclaim. His sound intensified via 2015 remixes for Mr. Mitch and dJJ, and his 2016 EP Mercury contained some of his most bracing work yet. ~ Paul Simpson
