Jack Stauber’s Micropop is a project for singer, songwriter, and animator Jack Stauber to release music he posts on social media, as well as tunes that Stauber writes to accompany sketches he creates for Cartoon Network’s “Adult Swim” programming block.
• In April 2013—a few days before he turned 17 and a couple weeks after he dropped his solo debut album, Finite Form—Stauber launched the YouTube channel that would begin to build his online celebrity.
• The Western Pennsylvania native got started fronting the groove-rock band Joose as a teenager. Stauber was also part of the indie-pop band Zaki while attending the University of Pittsburgh.
• Stauber has released several EPs and two full-length albums as Jack Stauber’s Micropop. One of the LPs, a self-titled 2019 release, is a collection of 99 bite-sized musical sketches that are mostly less than 60 seconds long.
• Stauber has said he developed his unconventional vocal style by singing in the shower.
