Caribbean-based singer/songwriter Kris Berry is a rootsy artist whose music brings together such varied styles as New Orleans jazz, country, and R&B, as well as sounds from her native Caribbean. Born in Curaçao in 1982, Berry grew up listening to a wide-array of music from Latin to ska and Cuban music. Although she always loved singing, it wasn’t until 2008 when she began performing with a jazz ensemble that she formed the concept for her own music. Since 2010, Berry has worked with guitarist and producer Paul Willemsen, crafting her unique cross-genre sound. In 2011, she released a five-song EP. In 2012, she released her debut full-length album, Marbles. ~ Matt Collar
