Swedish singer/songwriter Lisa Isaksson honed her atmospheric blend of psychedelic art rock and breathy indie folk on her mother's acoustic guitar, which had spent a great majority of its life gathering dust in the family attic. Born outside Stockholm, Isaksson spent much of her youth around horses, with dreams of teaching riding and owning her own stables. Much of that rural imagery found its way into her lyrics, onto her trusty multi-track recorder, and out to the public through Cantering, her home-recorded CD-R debut, released under the moniker Lisa O Lillportan. Eventually, Lisa found enough like-minded individuals to form a band, resulting in Lisa o Piu. The group released its debut, When This Was the Future, in 2009. ~ James Christopher Monger
