Singer/dancer/actress MĂœa emerged as an R&B superstar in the late â90s. Born Mya Marie Harrison, the Washington, D.C. native first took up dance at a young age. Eventually, she decided to pursue singing full-time, signing with Interscope Records in 1996 at the age of 16. Her 1998 debut single âItâs All About Meâ featuring Sisqoâoff of her self-titled albumâhit No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her entrance into the music world. Over the years, MĂœa also joined other artists like Pras and Olâ Dirty Bastard (âGhetto Supastar (That Is What You Are)â) as well as Blackstreet and Mase (âTake Me Thereâ). Sheâs perhaps best known for teaming up with Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, and P!nk for a remake of âLady Marmaladeâ in 2001 from the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack, a smash hit that topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks and won a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. On screen, MĂœa can be seen acting and dancing in films such as Chicago (2002), Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004), and Shall We Dance? (2004). Since the release of her 2018 eighth full-lengthâT.K.O. (The Knockout)âthe singer continues to put out songs including 2020âs âYou Got Me, Pt. II,â 2021âs âWorth Itâ (as her alter ego MĂœa Lan$ky), 2023âs âWhine,â 2024âs âAnytime,â and 2025âs âGive It to You.â
