Rapper Ramirez made his mark with a modern sound influenced by â90s-era Bay Area and Memphis hip-hop.
âą Hailing from San Francisco, the MC is of Mexican and Nicaraguan descent. He credits his uncle with introducing him to Memphis hip-hop greats like Three 6 Mafia, a major influence on his music.
âą Ramirez was initially more interested in photography than in music. The success of his 2013 debut project, Trillity, convinced him to focus on music.
âą He joined up with G*59 Records in 2015, the label started the previous year by the New Orleans duo $uicideboy$, who would become frequent collaborators.
âą Ramirez teamed up with Virginia singer-songwriter Rocci for the joint 2020 album THA PLAYA$ MANUAL, a nostalgic ode to West Coast G-funk and other â90s sounds.
