Sabyan perform devotional Islamic hymns that typically feature traditional Arabic instrument like the gambus as well as Western instruments. Their refreshing palette of sounds are augmented by the charming vocals of frontwoman Nissa Sabyan. Sabyan rose to prominence in 2018 with debut single “Ya Maulana” which went on to win an Indonesian Music Award—a feat they repeated the following year with “Syukran Lillah”.
