The Italo-infused techno of Super Drama was born out of the London duo's eclectic DJ sets, with their debut, 2017's "Drama Theme" becoming an anthem of the London LGBTQ+ club scene.
Formed by Jerome Slesinski and Jon Arnold, the duo originally met as DJs on the gay club scene, playing lengthy sets which comprised Italo disco, techno, new beat, and their own bootleg reworkings of tracks to fit into their DJ sets. It wasn't until 2017 that they released their own original material, the self-released, SDR-001, which featured "Drama Theme." The following year saw the release of the Affected Elegance EP for Days of Being Wild and Ultra for Lisbon-based Discotexas, alongside a slew of self-released singles for their own Super Drama Records. Catching the ear of Moshi Moshi, the label signed the duo in 2019, issuing a couple of tracks -- "Unforgettable Runway" and "S/S 07" -- before collecting them for the 2020 fashion-inspired EP Unforgettable Runway. ~ Rich Wilson
