Initially known as the social media personality Meekakitty, indie-pop singer-songwriter Tessa Violet showcases her quirky and endearing personality on songs like the 2019 streaming smash “Crush.”
• In 2007, the Oregon resident began vlogging about fashion, travel, and the mundane as part of a high school senior project. One year later, she moved to New York City, pursuing the hobby under the alias Meekakitty.
• Violet appears in a fan-made 2011 video for AWOLNATION's “Sail” that has surpassed 350 million views. Family Force 5 featured her in their official “Cray Button” visual.
• By 2013, she’d dropped the name Meekakitty and begun recording original songs as Tessa Violet.
• Her 2014 debut album Maybe Trapped, Mostly Troubled cracked the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseakers Albums chart.
