SEVENTEEN’s self-written, self-choreographed songs possess both the polish of a veteran group and the endless enthusiasm of rookies. From precocious 2015 debut “Adore U” onwards, the band’s singles fuse new jack swing grooves and funky guitar licks to showcase the members’ angelic vocals and slick rap verses. While they can take it slow on a piano-driven ballad (“Say Yes”) or go full electro hip-hop (“Fronting”), their songs always stay on the sunny side, exuding a refreshingly off-the-cuff energy.
