Pianist and composer Bugge Wesseltoft is a linchpin of the Scandi nu-jazz scene. Whether working alone or collaborating with a cast that includes French trumpeter Erik Truffaz, Swedish-Turkish saxophonist Ilhan Ersahin or American drummer Billy Cobham, Wesseltoft is as much at home in the conservatoire as he is in the club. Raised on a diet of jazz but soon introduced to broken beat, funk, and trip-hop, Wesseltoft has delicately constructed an important bridge between jazz and electronic music.
