Byron Bay is an idyllic town on Australia's East Coast, renowned for its hippie culture and laidback lifestyle. In Hearts Wake may hail from there, but there's absolutely nothing hippie or laidback about them at all. The metalcore quartet deals in doom-laden, down-tuned guitar riffs, pummeling drums, and hoarsely shouted vocals.
