Insouciant rhymer Sero’s flow is best served cold. He found his voice on the streets of inner-city Berlin before early anthem “Holy” announced his arrival to the wider Deutschrap scene in 2016. Debut album One and Only provided a shot of pure attitude, laced with lush, languid emo-trap beats by Alexis Troy. “Sushi” is a symbolic cut, peppered with pop-culture references that nod to Finding Nemo and Star Wars and add some levity to an otherwise scorching salvo of punchlines. But he’s also unafraid to show his vulnerable side, as on the plaintive “Vertigo”.
