After drumming with the Mexican band Zoé, dreamy alternative rocker Jorge Siddhartha González Ibarra moved upstage to sing and sling guitar as a solo artist in 2008. Why You? introduced a smooth, gliding, shoegaze-y sound that became increasingly ethereal over the course of several subsequent releases. Synths emerge to the foreground between the loner-celebrating title track of 2011's Náufrago (Castaway) and the shimmering, glimmering "El Aire" (Air) from 2016's Únicos.
