Though Fetty Wap has all the outward characteristics of your average gangsta rapper, and then some—he is missing an eye, after all—the New Jersey-bred MC-turned-singer is a more complicated sort of pop star. He's a crooner, a balladeer, and an artist who takes the framework of contemporary street rap and turns it into something surprisingly tender.
