You've got to love a band whose claim to fame was a saucy, smooth ode to infidelity called "Secret Lovers." Otherwise, Atlantic Starr's specialty was the earnest love jam. Emerging out of the disco scene, the group epitomized the cross-pollination of R&B and pop music that took place throughout the '80s and '90s. Fronted by a string of female vocalists including Sharon Bryant, Barbara Weathers, Portia Martin and Rachel Oliver, Atlantic Starr always kept the groove in its heart.
