About Cantaloupe Music

Launched in 2001, Cantaloupe Music is a Brooklyn-based independent classical label curated by Michael Gordon, David Lang, and Julia Wolfe—the founding composers of Bang on a Can and the internationally renowned Bang on a Can Marathon. The label’s ongoing mission is to nurture vibrant and adventurous new music that’s “too funky for the academy.”
