Under Water

Things are more beautiful under water

pebbles appear like the most precious gems

Smooth is my skin like the hide of a dolphin

soft is the sun. through a dark turquoise lens

Fish keep on crossing my vision, silvery,

sparkling whenever a ray of the sun

is broken through ripples the friendly wind kisses

on the blue glass that I am now molten in

I can´t remember how I started diving,

don´t feel the urge yet to get up and breathe.

Seems like I´m born to the world under water

I´m gonna stay in the cool flow beneath

I´m diving down and then I hear you calling

at first like a growl through the wet in my ears

then you get loud and I feel your anxiety

pulling my guts to the surface in tears

I break the water and get back to breathing

coughing and spluttering, while you run to me

splashing the waves, curious but still laughing

while I give silent goodbye to the sea
