I just felt the turmoil of my twenties slide off my shoulders like a melting clock

I realised a healthy relationship doesn't make you compromise on your character

You don't have to sink low in order to be boosted

And then once I'd healed, there she was in front of me

Five-foot-two with her chin tilted up like an expectant little bird

And as I looked down to give her a kiss

I just knew that for probably the first time ever, I was actually looking straight ahead
