One endless back and forth

Talking to you is maybe

Why I learnt to talk

There’s a reason I persisted

Sat still when I was taught

Cos one day I’d speak to you,

Give power to my thoughts

Of people I once knew

When I had the chance to kiss you

I knew just what to do

And when I reach out to hold you

I know just how to touch

How it feels so right with us

There’s a reason my heart opened

For the lightness in my step

Like a little kid

That when I turn to see you
