They say you can’t be saved until you’re willing

But placebos aren’t my thing anyway

And I can no longer dream of a happy ending

Or earn my rightful passage

When I was a young boy I was concerned that I would not get let in For the things that I had done

And the ways in which I’d sinned

But as I grew and I searched for the truth

I found it wasn’t in the beliefs of my youth

And though the hearts of the faithful stayed true

My eyes were opened

And I can’t believe in fairy tales any more

I can’t feel guilt for my actions

For our morals aren’t derived from the scriptures

War in the name of the almighty is proof enough of that

And we are what we believe

And my heart is still heavy

For though I’ve been released

Restless until every soul has everything they need and has been set free It’s time to decide to let the past lie

To progress, to move on

From outdated traditions of the past

that hold no relevance

And incite violence

This abhorrent hypocrisy’s unchallenged

It’s now more than ever that we must draw together
