People try to close in, but despite all the bravery, it doesn’t lift

There are some who’re speeding in their cars

They sit on the hood & the music thunders on, then shoot their arms

There’s a distance between you and me,

That we used to rush in, from your belly to your cheeks, it burnt our lips

And we were close to everything

So young and naive, so desperate and drunk

There are shells falling for minutes at a time

There are three filters from the scream to the eyes

There are inmates holding their daughter’s hand

If it was so obvious how did it come to that?
