Royal Wood
Ghost Light
Albüm · Rock · 2017 · Outside Music
An album of casually brilliant folk rock delivers on the promise of the Juno-nominated songwriter, combining his gifts for memorable melodies with warm, organic production. Songs like “Til the Morning Comes” and the string-backed “Dear Anna” place Wood in the tradition of great storytellers like Ron Sexsmith and Paul Simon. When Wood adds a touch of soul, as on the slow-burning “I Was the Man” or horn-accompanied “Weight of a Stone,” Wood’s confidence is disarming.
