Content Nausea
Albüm · Alternative · 2014 · Rough Trade
First released under the cryptic alter ego Parkay Quarts, Content Nausea serves as a victory lap for the garage-punk surrealists’ other great 2014 album, Sunbathing Animal. Loose, funny, dreamy but barbed, the band are perfect purveyors of modern urban anxiety, the kind that turns routine complaints into deadpan humor (the stiff B-52's groove of “Everyday It Starts”) or a Dylanesque rant about media saturation into wild, alien rockabilly (“Content Nausea”). It’s a vision of New York as a place that’s at once fragmented and totally overwhelming.
