In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. While I was growing up my dad taught himself guitar with the help of some 'beginners guide' type book. One of the songs in there was called 'the sandwich song' and I vividly remember my sister and me demanding he performs it at least once a week.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Elliott Smith, Figure 8 Fleet Foxes, Helplessness Blues Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Skeleton Tree These are albums I return to frequently and have done for a while — so newer faves were at a disadvantage. The common denominator is that they all contain only tracks I really enjoy, assembled in such a way as to make the whole greater than its parts

Tell us why you chose this song. “X” X has such patience with its grandiose elements, the strings, horns, the choir — these tracks add tension beneath the surface of a tight beat, but the song is still so restrained. Her great lyricism and performance are the backbone supporting it all.
