In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical inspiration came from various film soundtracks. I have a deep appreciation for cinematic scores, and among my favorite composers are Philip Glass and Gurdjieff.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Michael Riesman, Philip Glass: Music from "The Hours" Nils Frahm, Old Friends New Friends Thomas de Hartmann, The Music of Gurdjieff de Hartmann These three piano albums have profoundly influenced the atmosphere of my compositions. I am drawn to minimalist music; the depth conveyed through simplicity fascinates me. Gurdjieff’s music, in particular, has a sacred quality that evokes curiosity.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “葉柏 PY” I spent seven years deeply in love with someone who worked across from my studio. He has since moved to Shanghai. This song is written for him. As a musician, I wanted to dedicate a piece to him, using his name as its title.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? There was a year when I toured extensively across mainland China, giving more solo performances there than any other Taiwanese musician. That same year, I was honored with the 'Best Singer-Songwriter' award in Taiwan.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope to build upon Mandarin pop music to create a genre uniquely my own, defining a fresh musical style that inspires more young people to express their creativity freely.
