Grossmann formed the Daniel Grossmann Ensemble and made his recording debut with that group in 2005, releasing the album Through Roses. That year, Grossmann founded the Orchester Jakobsplatz München. For the 2018-2019 season, the group's name was changed to Jewish Chamber Orchestra Munich. In 2012, Grossmann was awarded the Pro meritis scientiae et litterarum prize by the Bavarian Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts. Their 2026 album Weinberg was dedicated to works by Mieczysław Weinberg.
