In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. S: Hearing Taylor Swift on the radio. My favorite song was “You Belong With Me,” and I remember always asking my mom to play it again. J: My dad singing songs he wrote for us as kids. He had one called the B song and it was my favorite!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Mayer, Born and Raised Taylor Swift, Red (Taylor’s Version) [+ A Message from Taylor] Shelby: Red by Taylor Swift because it’s nostalgic to me and I love her songwriter/acoustic side. Jake: Born and Raised by John Mayer is my family’s road trip record. When I listen to this one it brings me back to memories of traveling with my family
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You and Me” It’s the first ever original song we released. It was one we worked on in our home studio. Every time I listen I am reminded of the long hours we spent working on that song and trying to make something authentic to us.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? S: When I played an unreleased song of mine called I’m Trying in LA. The crowd put up their phone lights and it meant so much to me. J: Getting to sing backstage with Michael Bublé! He’s an amazing artist and I will never forget that day.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? S: I’d love to do a tiny desk and a world tour! It would also be so cool to play in an arena one day! J: To do a world tour and get to travel all of the world and play our songs to people of all different cultures
