When recording under the name Mint, Wolfgang Voigt produces a more traditional style of techno looking back to the pioneering Detroit producers for inspiration. Where his Gas records dismiss the need for beats, and his Studio 1 records dismiss the need for anything but beats, his Mint records utilize recognizable percussive beats and some lush synths, as showcased on his personal label, Profan. ~ Jason Birchmeier
