Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Miming to The Monkees with my neighbors and using badminton rackets for guitars.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Big Thief, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You MGMT, Oracular Spectacular The Beatles, Help! 'Help' is the best Beatles LP. Big Thief sounds like all the emotions I've ever had without knowing what any are. MGMT's debut is the closest I've been to feeling what people might have felt when they first heard ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ in the 60s.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Hello Moon” Somehow I never get bored of hearing it. I love all the counter guitar lines, the female backing vocals, the Serge Gainsbourg style bass guitar sound. It’s a hug of a track.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My first record being album of the week at Rough Trade was a moment for me. It's the record store I always went to as a kid.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Travel back in time to 1966 and write a song with Paul McCartney.
