An adept lyricist and natural showman, burgeoning South London rapper POUNDZ is using his hard-hitting rhymes and viral dance moves to carry UK drill to the next level.
• Poundz discovered his lyrical abilities when his very first rhymes earned him the title of the best rapper in his secondary school.
• He formally introduced himself with the 2016 single “Skengman Poundz.” The prefatory single received more than 250,000 views and streams across platforms.
• His back-to-back 2019 singles “Skengbop” and “Mourinho” exploded on social media and caught the eyes of Disturbing London’s G FrSh, who offered him a record deal.
• Through the label, he released the pounding hit single “Opp Thot,” which went Top 40 on the UK singles chart. Famous for its viral dance, the song’s music video garnered 1 million views in just two days and earned a cosign from rapper Kano.
• Having discovered the formula for high-performing drill music, Poundz released “TikTok” in 2020. Powered by another infectious dance, the single went viral almost immediately.
