Born Renaud Pierre Manuel Séchan, the French singer-songwriter known professionally as Renaud has had a career spanning six decades.
∙ Renaud Cante El’ Nord, recorded in the Picard dialect of northern France, won the 1993 Victoire de la Musique for Traditional Music Album of the Year.
∙ Boucan d’enfer, his 2002 LP, sold more than 2 million copies and kicked off a streak of five consecutive No. 1 releases on the French Top Albums chart.
∙ The singer teamed up with French superstar Axelle Red on the single “Manhattan-Kaboul,” which won Francophone Song of the Year honors at the 2003 NRJ Music Awards.
∙ He returned to top of the French charts in 2016 “Toujours debout,” a single from his No. 1 album Renaud and a nod to Elton John's hit “I’m Still Standing.”
