As a teenager, William McDowell earned his musical chops playing drums and organ at church before moving on to become a worship leader, pastor, and award-winning gospel singer.
∙ The viral hit “I Give Myself Away,” from his 2009 debut, As We Worship Live, was McDowell’s first track to top Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.
∙ Recorded live with a 2,000-strong group of worshippers, 2013’s Grammy-nominated Withholding Nothing picked up a Stellar Award for Praise and Worship CD of the Year.
