Micah Davis, born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1993, has become a sensation for his work as Masego, blending hip-hop flows with R&B melodies and smooth jazz instrumentals. He broke through in 2016 with his EP Loose Thoughts, introducing audiences to his playful blend of a variety of genres. His 2018 LP, Lady Lady, built upon this sound, burrowing deeper into soul and R&B influences, infusing Stevie Wonder-inspired compositions with trap drums and head-nodding bass grooves. His 2023 self-titled epic was a magnum opus built around lush piano melodies and Masego's celebrated saxophone solos.
