Born in Memphis in 1982, Holcomb spent his youth immersed in the work of singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and James Taylor, as well as the folk and country traditions that would later provide a basis for his sturdy, faith-forward brand of Americana. Together with The Neighbors—the Nashville-based band he founded in 2005 and whose members have included his wife, singer Ellie—Holcomb crafts thoughtful songs that provide strength and solace in hard times while expressing gratitude, too.
