Built around the dense arrangements of Andy Stack and Jenn Wasner's contemplative vocals, Wye Oak's dreamy indie folk tunes quickly caught the ear of Merge Records, who gave 2007's independently released If Children a new chance at a wider audience. While their first two albums were hits with critics, it took the title track to 2011's Civilian appearing on the TV show The Walking Dead for their profile to really bloom. Festivals and tours with major acts like The National followed, and the duo returned to the studio for the acclaimed Shriek in 2014.
