Despite starting out as a rock musician, Sahej Bakshi swapped strings for synths, adopted the Dualist Inquiry moniker and has become one of the most innovative electronic musicians to emerge from India. Tracks such as “Isoterra”, “Divide” and “Sleepwalker” stunningly highlight Bakshi’s keen ear not only for intricate sonic detail but also pop sensibilities. Elsewhere, his collabs with singer-songwriter Kavya Trehan play to both musicians’ strengths—matching her ethereal vocals and melodies with his harsh, propulsive beats.
