Originating as a synth-pop duo in Rennes, France, Niagara's singer Muriel Moreno and keyboardist Daniel Chenevez flirted with a faux-African manouche vibe on their catchy, kitschy hit "Tchiki boum." The pair then pivoted to a tough rock sound, exchanging synths for the guitars and hard-riffing horns of "Baby Louis."
