The Healer

He lay on the floor and stared at the ceiling And he wondered what things that he ought to be feeling So he walked out the door and down the street Looking for a similar sufferer to meet He met a girl with vacant eyes And she said, "Take my pain away My heart abandoned me and left a naked shell Now my demons wanna drag me down, down, too" Often she'd lament, "We're all sad and depressed And we don't like how we look when we get undressed" Terror filled those hooded eyes And she begged, "Take my pain away Purpose abandoned me and left a useless shell Now my demons wanna drag me down, down, too" She looked at him with stark sincerity He handed her his cold black heart He said, "I'll take your pain away Just please don't abandon me, I've got nobody else I won't let your demons drag you down No, I won't let your demons drag you down, down, too Down, too"
